About Ivan Kaufman
As Founder, Chairman and CEO of Arbor Realty Trust (NYSE:ABR), Ivan Kaufman brings more than 30 years of real estate finance experience to the Arbor platform with a significant track record of success across both the residential and commercial markets.
Since forming Arbor National Holdings and its subsidiary, Arbor National Mortgage, in 1983, Ivan Kaufman has taken Arbor and its various companies through a series of expansions, acquisitions and real estate cycles, resulting in one of the more diversified real estate empires in the United States.
In 2012, he launched Arbor Multifamily Acquisition Company (AMAC), a New York-based, full-service acquisition and investment firm, which has successfully acquired thousands of multifamily units across the country within diverse primary and secondary markets.
Then in 2016, Kaufman launched crowdfunding platform ArborCrowd, which offers accredited investors the opportunity to make equity investments in individual properties.
Widely recognized for his expertise in the commercial and residential real estate sectors, Ivan Kaufman has lectured on these topics at the Wharton School, Harvard Business School and Columbia University. Mr. Kaufman is also active in environmental and educational causes. He previously volunteered with Global ReLeaf and the International Arid Lands Consortium, founded North Shore Hebrew Academy High School and serves as a trustee of the Birthright Israel Foundation. He also spent time as chair of New York State’s Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission for the 10th Judicial District.
